Lately I've taken to reading a bunch of good blogs about literary non-fiction. But few of them touch on the Canadian experience. It's a different world here. We don't have the Esquires and GQs and New Yorkers to consider for our the finest pieces, unless you happen to be one of the many Canadians -- Gladwell, Gopnik, Chris Jones, Clive Thompson and Adam Sternbergh, to name a few -- who've infiltrated the New York magazine scene. Up here, the options and pay are limited -- and so is the imagination.

So this blog is about non-fiction writing and writers -- with a little emphasis on Canada.
